Floor 1 Productions is the award-winning, New York City-based production company run by Ian M Adelson and RJ Brown. Together, they bring a combined total of 20+ years of experience in the film industry on projects for Netflix, AppleTV+, Hulu and more. Floor 1 produces narrative and documentary films, music videos, and commercial content with selected works having played in film festivals around the world, through streaming, and online with over 10 million views. Adelson and Brown take pride in their countless relationships with cast, crew and production personnel in all stages from prep to post.

What started as a local film collective amongst friends in New York City officially became a production company in the transformative year that was 2021. The name 'Floor 1" embraces the idea that every project is built upon a strong, base foundation. Much like an architectural model, we believe in building each project from the ground floor until it reaches its greatest heights.
We believe that the stories we tell are as compelling as the people they are about. The theme connecting all of Floor 1’s work is the exploration of character and the self. We believe there is beauty in the details, the everyday, the individual that is often overlooked. Everyone has a story worth telling.

Ian M Adelson is an award-winning American director, and former associate producer of the Apple TV+ series, DICKINSON. Adelson’s films have screened worldwide in festivals and streaming, while his music videos have garnered over 10 million views online. As a commercial director, he has done campaigns for some of the world's biggest brands. Adelson was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended the University of Michigan's film program before coming up through the ranks of production in New York City.

RJ Brown is an actor and filmmaker living in Brooklyn, NY. As an actor he can be found on HBO, CBS, NBC, CW and most recently as Caleb in Netflix's 13 REASONS WHY. He shares his passion as a filmmaker at Floor 1 Productions and is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan.
